Services FAQ

Which service should I start with?

Start with the SIGNAL Diagnostic when the underlying constraint is unclear. If existing evidence establishes the constraint, we can review it and scope the service that addresses it without requiring a separate paid diagnostic.

Do I have to commit to an ongoing engagement?

No. The diagnostic is a standalone piece of work with a written finding and a recommendation at the end — including the recommendation to stop, if that is what the data supports. Ongoing partnerships exist because most businesses want help executing the finding, not because the diagnostic requires one.

What do these services cost?

A SIGNAL Diagnostic runs $2,500–$4,500 depending on scope and data access. Fractional Head of Growth engagements start at $3,500 per month. Fractional CMO fees and scope are agreed after discovery. Production work is scoped separately because cost depends on shoot days, locations and deliverables.

How is this different from hiring an agency?

An agency typically sells the channel it runs, and the person who wins the account is rarely the person doing the work. Here the diagnosis comes before any recommendation, the same senior person stays on the engagement, and if the constraint turns out to be margin or product mix rather than marketing, you get told that instead of sold a retainer.

What if the diagnostic finds my problem is not marketing?

Then that is the finding, and you get it in writing. Pricing, product mix and margin structure are common answers, and none of them are fixed by more traffic. Knowing that before committing a budget is the entire point of diagnosing first.
