Before building loyalty programs or complex segmentation, most small stores are better served by one thing: a simple post-purchase email sequence.
The basic structure
- Day 1–3: Order confirmation and set expectations, shipping, care instructions, what to expect.
- Day 10–14: Check-in, feedback and review request once the product's had time to be used.
- Day 30–45: A relevant next purchase suggestion, timed to typical repurchase behavior for that category.
This single flow usually outperforms broad promotional email volume, because it's timed to where the customer actually is in their relationship with the product.
